Privacy Policy

PRT Live ("the App") is a free mobile application operated by Cow Yoga, LLC, the sole legal entity responsible for the App and its services. It displays real-time operational data for the West Virginia University Personal Rapid Transit system. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using the App or visiting our website you agree to the practices described here.

We collect minimal data necessary to operate the App:

• Usage analytics: anonymized crash reports and feature-usage statistics (e.g. which screens are viewed) via third-party analytics SDKs. No personally identifiable information is included.
• Diagnostic data: if the App crashes, an anonymized stack trace may be sent to help us identify and fix bugs.
• Contact information: only if you voluntarily reach out to us by email, in which case we receive whatever you choose to share.

We do not collect your name, email address, precise location, or any other personal information unless you voluntarily provide it.

Real-time PRT status information is fetched from publicly available data sources. We do not store, log, or share any queries you make within the App. All PRT data is displayed in-app only and is not retained on our servers beyond what is necessary to deliver the current status to your device.

Information we collect is used only to:

• Deliver PRT status updates and service-alert notifications.
• Identify and fix bugs and performance issues.
• Understand aggregate usage patterns to improve the App.
• Respond to inquiries you send us.

We never sell, trade, or rent your information to any third party, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.

If you enable push notifications, a device token is generated by Apple or Google and used solely to deliver service-alert notifications. This token is not linked to any personal identity and is deleted when you disable notifications or uninstall the App.

Our website uses privacy-friendly analytics that do not set tracking cookies and do not fingerprint individual visitors. The App itself does not use cookies. Any analytics data collected is anonymized and aggregated before being stored.

We retain anonymized analytics data for up to 12 months, after which it is deleted or further aggregated. Contact inquiries are retained only as long as necessary to respond. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect the limited data we hold, though no system is completely secure.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access or receive a copy of any personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction or deletion of your personal information.
• Opt out of any future data collection beyond what is strictly necessary to operate the App.
• Lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority in your jurisdiction.

Because we collect very little personal information, most requests can be fulfilled quickly. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@prtlive.app.

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
